"I should just be grateful I'm not worse off and stop hoping for more."
How it sounds in your head: At least you can still do some things. Other people have it worse. Stop being greedy or entitled. Be thankful for what you have and stop wishing for healing or change. Hope is just setting yourself up for disappointment.
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us."
-- Ephesians 3:20Religious spirit that calls desire for wholeness 'ingratitude' and shames people into settling for less than God's promises.
Well-meaning people constantly tell him to 'count his blessings' and compare him to worse situations, making hope feel like selfishness.
Begging by the roadside. When he cried out to Jesus, people told him to BE QUIET—stop making demands, be grateful you're alive. He refused to settle and cried out MORE. Jesus stopped, called him, and INSTANTLY healed him. His refusal to settle resulted in complete restoration.
I REFUSE the lie that hoping for wholeness is greedy. IT IS WRITTEN that God is able to do EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY beyond what I can ask or imagine. I am not settling for less when God promises MORE. Gratitude doesn't mean giving up on God's promises—it means THANKING Him in advance for breakthrough. IT IS WRITTEN that by His stripes I WAS healed—past tense, finished work. I am not demanding more than I deserve; I'm RECEIVING what Jesus already purchased. I am blessed with EVERY spiritual blessing, including divine health and supernatural provision. I walk in the blessing of Abraham by covenant.
The Father doesn't want you to shrink your hopes—He wants you to enlarge your tent. He's not offended by your desire for wholeness; He DIED to provide it. Stop settling for crumbs when He's prepared a feast.
