"I should have homeschooled or sent them to Christian school instead of public school."
How it sounds in your head: You exposed them to worldly influences when you could have protected them. Other mothers made the sacrifice and their kids are walking with God. You chose the easy route—public school—and now your kids have walked away from faith.
"For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy."
-- 1 Corinthians 7:14Religious performance teaching that right educational choice guarantees spiritual outcomes.
You can see the specific worldly influences they encountered in public school. Their doubts and questions seem to trace back to teachers and peers who challenged their faith. Other Christian mothers seem so certain homeschool was God's will.
He was 'learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians'—raised and educated in Pharaoh's pagan palace, the worst possible worldly influence. Yet he became the one who spoke with God face to face and delivered Israel.
I REFUSE the lie that my educational choices for my children overrode God's covenant promises over them. IT IS WRITTEN that my children are HOLY—set apart by covenant, not by curriculum. Their exposure to worldly thinking does NOT disqualify them from God's purposes. IT IS WRITTEN in Philippians 1:6 that He who began a good work in them will complete it—not might complete it if I'd chosen better schools, WILL complete it. The BARAK blessing covers my children in every environment. Moses was educated in Pharaoh's palace and became God's deliverer. I trust God's sovereignty over my children more than I fear my educational choices.
The Father has been present with your children in every classroom, every hallway conversation, every challenging question—turning even their doubts into deeper faith foundations. He doesn't need the perfect educational environment to fulfill His purposes in them; He uses every experience, even the ones you second-guess.
