"My kids will resent me when they grow up because I'm not the mom I should be."
How it sounds in your head: You imagine them in therapy someday, listing all the ways you failed them. The birthday parties you didn't throw. The organic meals you didn't make. The patience you didn't have. You're building their future resentment one inadequate day at a time.
"All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children."

I REFUSE the lie that my children's future is held hostage by my imperfect present. IT IS WRITTEN that all my children shall be taught by the Lord and great shall be their peace—not taught by my mistakes but by His faithfulness. Their story is not a tally of my failures; it is written by the Author who redeemed Abraham the liar, Jacob the deceiver, and David the adulterer into the lineage of Jesus. IT IS WRITTEN that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, and that includes condemnation over parenting. I stand in the BARAK blessing—my children are blessed coming in and going out, not because I'm flawless but because He is faithful. I am the righteousness of God in Christ.
The Father sees you in the desert thinking your son is dying from your inadequacy, and He's opening your eyes to the well that's already been provided. He's not building their resentment—He's building their peace, and it doesn't depend on you getting everything right.
