"I should have homeschooled/shouldn't have homeschooled; I made the wrong educational choice and now my kids are behind/unsocialized."
How it sounds in your head: You chose wrong. If you'd homeschooled they wouldn't have been exposed to those influences, would have gotten better education, would be ahead. Or: if you hadn't homeschooled they'd be more socially developed, better prepared for the real world, not so sheltered. Either way, you chose wrong and they're paying the price.
"A man's heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps."
-- Proverbs 16:9Condemnation lie over education choices that makes any path the wrong path and mother responsible for all gaps.
She sees gaps or struggles and blames the educational choice she made. Homeschool moms see social awkwardness and blame themselves. Traditional school moms see negative influences or academic struggles and blame themselves. The enemy makes every choice the wrong choice in hindsight.
Moses was educated in all the wisdom of Egypt—pagan education system, surrounded by idolatry and occult knowledge. Yet 'he was mighty in words and deeds' and God used that very education in Egyptian systems to prepare him to lead Israel. God redeemed the 'wrong' education into perfect preparation.
I REFUSE the lie that I made the wrong educational choice for my kids. IT IS WRITTEN in Proverbs 16:9 that while I planned their way, the LORD directed their steps—including this educational path. I made the best decision I could with what I had. IT IS WRITTEN that God is not panicking over gaps or social struggles. He is sovereignly filling every space with His grace and using even the imperfect choice for His perfect purposes. The BARAK blessing means my family is covered by favor, not by my flawless decision-making. God redeems every educational path and prepares my kids through it, not despite it.
The Father isn't critiquing your educational choice; He's been sovereignly directing your steps through every decision you've second-guessed. While you've been drowning in 'what-if' regret, He's been weaving the path you chose into the exact preparation your kids needed, filling every gap with grace, and laughing at the enemy's accusation that you chose wrong when He was directing all along.
