"I should focus on quality time with my family now instead of fighting for healing."
How it sounds in your head: I need to be realistic about the timeline and make these months or years count. Instead of exhausting myself with medical treatments and faith fights, maybe I should just treasure every moment with my kids, create memories, write them letters. Fighting feels selfish when I could be present. I want to leave them with good memories of me, not memories of a desperate woman chasing a miracle that never came.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."
-- Joel 2:25Enemy disguising surrender as maturity, making acceptance of death feel like sacrificial love while framing faith as selfish hope.
She's watched people 'fight until the end' and heard others say they wished they'd just enjoyed their final time instead of chasing treatments. As a mother, her instinct to prioritize her children's needs over her own makes giving up the fight feel like noble love rather than unbelief, and she fears being remembered as desperately grasping instead of peacefully present.
A widow's ONLY son had died and was being carried out in a funeral procession—her future security gone, her family line ended. Jesus had COMPASSION on her (she didn't even ask Him), touched the coffin, and said, 'Young man, I say to you, arise.' The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him BACK to his mother. She went from planning burial to receiving her resurrected son in MOMENTS—no one told her to 'make peace with his death' first.
I REFUSE the lie that accepting death is noble and fighting for life is selfish. IT IS WRITTEN that God will RESTORE the years the enemy has stolen—my children don't need 'final memories'; they need a LIVING, HEALED mother modeling FAITH, not surrender. Jesus gave the widow of Nain her DEAD son back because He had COMPASSION—not because she had great faith, but because that's His NATURE. IT IS WRITTEN: The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that I might have LIFE and have it MORE ABUNDANTLY. Fighting for that abundant life isn't selfish—it's OBEDIENCE. I will not write farewell letters while I'm still breathing; I will PROPHESY life over my future. I am under the BARAK blessing that promises LONG LIFE and satisfaction—my children will see me HEALED, not buried. I shall not die but LIVE and declare the works of the Lord before the next generation!
Your Father isn't asking you to gracefully prepare your children for your death—He's the Jesus who stopped a FUNERAL PROCESSION because He had compassion on a mother and gave her dead son BACK to her alive. He's running toward you with that same resurrection power, not because He wants your kids to have 'good final memories,' but because He wants them to witness their mother HEALED and WHOLE, testifying to His goodness for decades to come.
