"I served for fifty years and got burned—God obviously doesn't protect those who serve Him faithfully."
How it sounds in your head: You gave the best years of your life. Sunday school teacher for thirty years. Deacon. Missions trips. Tithes even when money was tight. And what did you get? Backstabbed by the very people you served. God didn't shield you from anything.
"At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them. But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me... And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom."
-- 2 Timothy 4:16-18Source: Religious expectation that faithful service earns divine protection—Old Covenant thinking that Jesus abolished.
The timeline is undeniable—you literally did everything 'right' by church standards and still experienced betrayal, slander, and rejection from fellow believers. The math doesn't add up in the transactional faith you were taught.
Job lost everything and his closest friends accused him of secret sin, sitting in judgment instead of comfort. God didn't explain Himself or apologize—He just DOUBLED everything Job lost the moment Job prayed for those same friends who betrayed him.
I REFUSE the lie that faithful service earns protection from betrayal. IT IS WRITTEN: Even Paul was forsaken by all, but the Lord stood with him. My reward was never crowd approval—it's the Father's 'well done.' Those who hurt me are forgiven; I'm not their judge. IT IS WRITTEN: 'The Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom.' I am blessed in the city and in the field, coming in and going out. The BARAK blessing doesn't depend on human gratitude. I am the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath, because of COVENANT not performance.
Your Father saw every hour you served, every sacrifice you made, every time you showed up when no one else did—and He's keeping detailed records not for judgment, but for reward. He's running toward you with the ring of authority because your sonship was never based on their response to your service.
