"I've seen too many people deconstructing their faith to trust church is safe."
How it sounds in your head: Everyone I knew from youth group is now posting anti-church content. They all walked away, citing the same toxic patterns. If that many people leave, maybe the problem IS the system. Maybe church destroys faith more than builds it.
"They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us."
-- 1 John 2:19Source: Social media amplifying deconstruction stories, creating fear that church involvement leads to eventual disillusionment and abandonment of faith.
He has watched multiple friends publicly deconstruct, often citing legitimate church wounds, making staying feel naive and leaving feel inevitable. The pattern appears systemic, not isolated.
After a hard teaching, MANY disciples turned back and no longer followed Jesus. Jesus asked the Twelve, 'Do you also want to go away?' Peter answered, 'Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life'—staying when others left because of revelation, not religion.
I REFUSE the lie that mass deconstruction proves church is toxic. IT IS WRITTEN that those who were truly OF us would continue WITH us—connection determines endurance. I am not held by my strength but by HIS grip, and He will COMPLETE what He started in me. Others' exits don't determine my path. IT IS WRITTEN that His sheep hear His voice and FOLLOW Him—I know that voice. I stand under the BARAK blessing of covenant faithfulness—He is FAITHFUL even when I'm faithless. I am not deconstructing; I am DEEPLY ROOTED in the Vine that never fails.
The Father is saying, 'I see the exodus. Some are leaving religion and finding Me; others are leaving Me and finding emptiness. But YOU—you're not going anywhere because I'm not letting go. Where else would you go? I have the words of life, the feast prepared, the family waiting. Stay, son. The party's just getting started.'
