"I rejected God for most of my life. It's too late to suddenly ask for blessing now on my deathbed."
How it sounds in your head: I lived for myself for 90 years. Now that I'm dying, I want to turn to God? That's manipulative. That's using Him as fire insurance. He's not going to honor a last-minute conversion. I waited too long.
"Then he said to Jesus, 'Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.' And Jesus said to him, 'Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.'"

It feels like cheating—living your whole life your way and then jumping into grace at the last second. Surely God requires more earnest devotion than a deathbed conversion to warrant blessing.
Workers hired at 5pm—who worked ONE HOUR—received the SAME full day's wage as those who worked 12 hours in the scorching heat. When the all-day workers complained, the landowner said, 'Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?' Grace offends religious scorekeepers.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too late for God's blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that the thief on the cross received Paradise after 3 hours, and the workers hired at 5pm received a full day's wage after one hour. God's generosity isn't measured by my years of service but by His nature. IT IS WRITTEN in John 6:37 that whoever comes to Him, He will NEVER cast out—it doesn't say 'whoever comes early enough' or 'whoever comes with a long enough resume.' I am coming NOW, and that's exactly the right time. The blood of Jesus is not diluted by my late arrival. I receive FULL sonship, FULL inheritance, FULL blessing—not because I earned it but because He GAVE it.
The Father doesn't have a sliding scale of blessing based on how long you've served. He has ONE response to everyone who comes to Jesus: full sonship, immediate acceptance, total inheritance—whether you've walked with Him 90 years or 90 seconds.
