"My doubt proved I never truly believed, so I lost my salvation."
How it sounds in your head: Last month I had serious doubts about everything—God's existence, the gospel, all of it. Real Christians don't doubt like that. I must have never been saved in the first place, or I lost it when I questioned.
"Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy."
-- Jude 1:24Source: Religious teaching that equates intellectual struggle with spiritual death, making faith about certainty instead of relationship.
The doubts felt massive and all-consuming, and you've heard that 'true faith doesn't waver.' The enemy uses your honest questions as evidence you were never truly His.
Thomas explicitly declared he wouldn't believe unless he put his fingers in Jesus' wounds—total doubt, total skepticism. Jesus didn't cast him out or shame him; He showed up specifically FOR Thomas, invited him to touch the wounds, and called him 'My Lord and my God'—INSTANT restoration without punishment.
I REFUSE the lie that my doubt disqualified me from salvation. IT IS WRITTEN: 'To Him who is ABLE TO KEEP YOU from stumbling'—HE keeps me secure, not my mental certainty. John the Baptist doubted from prison, and Jesus called him the greatest prophet. Thomas demanded physical proof, and Jesus showed up specifically for him without rebuke. IT IS WRITTEN: 'I give them eternal life, and they shall NEVER perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.' My salvation is HIS work, not my unshakable confidence. I am sealed by the Holy Spirit, declared righteous by blood, and held by a Father who runs toward doubters—not away from them.
The Father isn't threatened by your questions—He's big enough to handle your doubt and close enough to meet you in it. While you're wondering if you lost your salvation, He's holding you tighter, whispering that your security was never based on your certainty but on His finished work.
