"I questioned God's goodness during my miscarriage and committed blasphemy."
How it sounds in your head: I accused Him of being cruel. I said He didn't care. I told my small group I didn't know if I could trust Him anymore. That's blaspheming His character—calling good evil—and the Spirit convicted me but I doubled down in my anger. Now I'm afraid I sealed my fate.
"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit."
-- Psalm 34:18Source: religious teaching that demands perfect theology during trauma, treating honest grief as heresy.
Your words WERE harsh, and they were ABOUT God, and you said them out loud in front of witnesses. It feels different than private doubt—you publicly maligned Him, which seems like the definition of blasphemy.
Job accused God of attacking him without cause, said God destroys both blameless and wicked alike, and wished he'd never been born. God's response? Told Job's 'comforters' that Job spoke what was RIGHT, and restored DOUBLE everything Job lost—instant multiplication, not punishment.
I REFUSE the lie that my grief-fueled questions are unforgivable blasphemy. IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord is NEAR to the brokenhearted—He doesn't recoil from my raw honesty. Job questioned, Abraham bargained, Jeremiah accused, and God called them righteous. My trauma-theology doesn't disqualify me from grace. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. I am held by the BARAK covenant that protected Jacob when he wrestled with God and DEMANDED a blessing. I don't have to clean up my questions to be clean before God. I am His daughter, even in the dark, even in the anger, even NOW.
The Father isn't threatened by your accusations—He's acquainted with grief, He knows the weight of loss, and He'd rather have your honest rage than your polite distance. He's running toward you IN the miscarriage, IN the anger, with the same arms that carried His own Son through death.
