"I cursed or used God's name wrong and now I'm under judgment forever."
How it sounds in your head: I used God's name as a curse word or said 'Jesus Christ' when I was mad. Now I'm terrified because that's one of the Ten Commandments and I broke it. I feel doomed.
"For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace."
-- Romans 6:14Source: Religious terror using Old Covenant law to condemn children under New Covenant grace, ignoring that we're not under law but under grace.
You've heard 'Thou shalt not take the Lord's name in vain' and you remember that moment you said His name in anger or frustration. The weight of breaking a Commandment feels permanent and unfixable.
Peter 'began to curse and swear' denying he knew Jesus - literally using profanity in his betrayal. Days later, Jesus restored him fully and told him to feed His sheep. No probation, no punishment, just restoration.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm under judgment for using God's name wrong. IT IS WRITTEN that I am not under law but under grace. Jesus fulfilled every commandment perfectly and gave me His righteousness as a gift. Peter cursed and swore and Jesus called him the rock on which He'd build His church. IT IS WRITTEN that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. The BARAK blessing covered Abraham when he lied about Sarah twice. I am covered by covenant, not condemned by law. I am forgiven. I am free. I am under grace.
The Father doesn't have a lightning bolt aimed at you for wrong words - He has a Son whose blood speaks better things than your worst moments. You're under grace, not under the microscope of religious judgment.
