"I mocked the Holy Spirit when I was drunk and now I'm beyond grace."

How it sounds in your head: I was at a party, drunk, and someone brought up God. I made jokes—crude, awful jokes—about the Holy Spirit. Everyone laughed. I laughed. The next morning I remembered and felt sick. You can't mock the Spirit and come back from that. I did it for social points and now I'm cut off.

Joel 2:25

"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust."

-- Joel 2:25
Enemy whispers: You mocked the Spirit publicly; you're finished. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Joel 2:25 - 'I will RESTORE to you the years that the locust has eaten.' Not 'you're disqualified.' RESTORE. God doesn't write people off for drunken stupidity. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 Corinthians 6:11, 'And such WERE some of you. But you were washed, sanctified, justified'—past tense. Your worst night doesn't define your forever identity.
Quick Truth: LIE: I mocked the Spirit drunk. TRUTH: Regret proves you didn't commit the unforgivable sin. Restored, not rejected. Joel 2:25

Source: religious terror around 'blasphemy of the Holy Spirit' weaponized without the context that it's PERMANENT rejection, not a drunken moment.

Why this feels true:

It was public, it was deliberate in the moment, and it was specifically ABOUT the Holy Spirit—the exact person Jesus warned about. The shame is triple: public sin, religious sin, and substance-fueled sin all at once.

Luke 23:39-43
The Thief on the Cross

One thief MOCKED Jesus while Jesus was dying for him—blasphemed the Messiah to His face during the crucifixion. The OTHER thief rebuked him and believed. Jesus told the believing thief, 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise'—instant salvation for a career criminal.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that my drunken mockery is the unforgivable sin. IT IS WRITTEN that God RESTORES what the locust has eaten—including dignity, including stupid mistakes, including public failures. The unforgivable sin is PERMANENT hardness, and my regret proves my heart is still soft. IT IS WRITTEN that if I confess my sins, He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse from ALL unrighteousness. I am not defined by my worst party moment; I am defined by the CROSS. I stand under the BARAK blessing that protected Abraham the liar and Jacob the deceiver. I am washed, sanctified, justified. I am HIS.

But God actually:

The Father isn't sitting in heaven replaying your joke and shaking His head—He's running toward the girl who woke up horrified, because THAT'S the heart He's after. He sees the regret, He sees the fear, and He's already decided: FORGIVEN.
