"I had sex and gave away something I can never get back from God."
How it sounds in your head: I'm damaged goods now. I gave my virginity to someone who didn't deserve it, and now I can never be pure again. God wanted my purity and I threw it away. No godly guy will want me.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
-- 2 Corinthians 5:17Purity culture teaching that equates a woman's worth with her virginity and presents Jesus as insufficient to restore.
The physical reality feels permanent—you can't become a virgin again. Church taught that purity is your gift to your husband, and you feel like you showed up to God's party empty-handed.
Rahab was a prostitute—sex was her profession, not a one-time mistake. God chose her for the Messianic line, made her an ancestor of Jesus, and listed her in the Hall of Faith in Hebrews 11.
I REFUSE the lie that my sexual past disqualifies me from purity or purpose. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a new creation—old things passed away, ALL things became new. My identity isn't 'damaged goods'; it's daughter of the King, righteous, holy, and pure because of Jesus. IT IS WRITTEN that there is no condemnation for those in Christ. I am Abraham's seed through faith, covered by the BARAK blessing that has nothing to do with my virginity. The Father sees me as a virgin bride, spotless and radiant, because that's what Jesus made me.
The Father doesn't see you as used or damaged—He sees you as pure, virginal, and spotless because you're clothed in Jesus' righteousness. He's not disappointed; He's celebrating that you're home, and He's already prepared the wedding dress.
