"I need to spend years rebuilding credibility before God can use me again."
How it sounds in your head: You failed publicly. People know what happened. Before you can step into anything significant, you need to prove you've learned, changed, grown. Maybe in five years, after you've demonstrated stability, after you've paid back debts, after you've shown you're trustworthy again. You can't just bounce back—there's a process of earning back respect and responsibility.
"But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.'"
-- Luke 15:22Religion creates probation periods and earning-back processes that contradict the instant restoration modeled by Jesus throughout Scripture.
The world operates on prove-yourself timelines. Banks want years of clean credit. Employers want track records. Even church leadership has 'restoration processes.' The idea of immediate usefulness feels presumptuous after public failure. Surely there's a waiting period, a proving ground, a season of demonstrating you're different now.
Saul murdered Christians, was the Church's #1 enemy. Three days after his conversion, Ananias laid hands on him and said, 'Brother Saul.' Immediately he was baptized, received the Spirit, and 'immediately he preached Christ in the synagogues.' No rehabilitation program. No trust-building period. Immediate deployment into ministry.
I REFUSE the lie that I need years to rebuild credibility. IT IS WRITTEN that the prodigal's father restored ring, robe, and sandals while he still smelled like pigs (Luke 15:22). No probation period. Immediate authority restoration. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a new creation—old passed away, all things HAVE BECOME new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Not becoming over time—HAVE BECOME, past tense. Paul went from murdering Christians to preaching Christ in days, not years. God doesn't have trust issues with me. I am already restored to full sonship, full authority, full assignment. The Father is releasing NOW what religion says I have to earn over years. I am positioned, anointed, and ready—TODAY.
The Father isn't making you sit in the corner proving you've changed before He trusts you with responsibility—He's running toward you with the ring of authority while you're still planning your 'make me a servant' speech. He's already assigning you to the next thing, already opening the door, already positioning you for impact, because restoration isn't a process you earn—it's a position you occupy the moment you turn toward home.
