"This business failure proves I'm not supposed to be a leader or provider."
How it sounds in your head: Real men provide and lead successfully. I failed at both. Maybe I'm supposed to just follow and let others lead. Maybe I'm not cut out for the provider role.
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
-- Jeremiah 29:11Enemy + world: Leadership and provision are earned through success. Failure proves you're a follower.
Provider/leader identity is core to emerging masculine identity and business failure feels like proof he doesn't have what it takes.
Moses tried to lead by killing an Egyptian and had to flee as a failure for 40 years. God still called him to lead an entire nation out of slavery - previous leadership failure didn't disqualify his calling.
I REFUSE the lie that business failure proves I'm not a leader or provider. IT IS WRITTEN that God's thoughts toward me include a future and a hope - my calling isn't canceled by one setback. Moses killed a man and fled as a leadership failure; God still called him to lead millions. IT IS WRITTEN that I am the head and not the tail, above and not beneath - that's my covenant identity regardless of business results. The barak blessing makes me a lender, not borrower - provision is part of my inheritance. My leadership and provider calling are intact because they come from HIS Word, not my performance. I am who HE says I am.
The Father didn't call you based on your success rate - He called you based on His purpose. Like Moses who failed at leading and still led millions, your calling survives your setbacks.
