"I should have stayed in my safe job instead of risking everything."
How it sounds in your head: I was stupid to try. Everyone warned me and I didn't listen. Now I've proven they were right and I was foolish. Safe was better and I threw it away.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
-- Proverbs 3:5-6Source: religious spirit of fear masquerading as wisdom - 'God helps those who don't take risks' mentality that opposes faith.
The contrast between past security and current loss creates intense regret. She can clearly see what she had versus what she lost, making the 'safe' path seem obviously correct in hindsight.
God told him to leave his country, family, and father's house without telling him the destination - just 'go to a land I will show you.' He went by faith and became the father of many nations with the BARAK blessing that protects even when you make mistakes.
I REFUSE the lie that I should have played it safe. IT IS WRITTEN that when I trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him, He directs my paths - including this one that looks like failure. My Father doesn't condemn my faith steps even when they don't produce immediate results. IT IS WRITTEN that I am Abraham's seed, heir according to promise, and the BARAK blessing covers my risks and redirects my steps. Safe is not my goal - trust is. And my God who directed me into this is MORE than capable of directing me out and into greater. He wastes nothing.
Your Father isn't shaking His head saying 'I told you so' - He's proud you trusted Him enough to risk. Like a father watching his daughter take her first steps and fall, He's not condemning the fall, He's celebrating the courage to try and already reaching to lift you higher.
