"Successful entrepreneurs have God's blessing—I failed so I must have His disapproval"
How it sounds in your head: If God was with me, it would have worked. Success equals blessing. My failure means He wasn't in it. I'm dying with divine disapproval hanging over my business and my life.
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
-- Jeremiah 29:11Prosperity gospel + world system teaching success equals God's approval, making outcomes the measure of His presence instead of covenant.
You see successful businesspeople who seem blessed, and your failure feels like the opposite. At 90+ it looks like a final verdict from heaven.
Joseph spent 13 YEARS as a slave and prisoner—complete 'failure' by entrepreneurial standards, forgotten in a dungeon. Yet God was WITH him the entire time, and one DAY he went from prisoner to Prime Minister, saving nations.
I REFUSE the lie that business failure equals divine disapproval. IT IS WRITTEN that God's thoughts toward me are PEACE, not evil—thoughts of FUTURE and HOPE even at 90+. Success doesn't measure His presence; COVENANT does. Joseph was in a PRISON and God was WITH him—then one day, INSTANT promotion to palace. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:38-39 NOTHING separates me from His love—not business failure, not death, not anything. I am the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God in Christ. His approval was settled at the CROSS, not at the quarterly report.
The Father isn't grading your business performance—He's seeing you as His beloved son in whom He is WELL PLEASED, the same words spoken over Jesus. The prodigal FAILED spectacularly, yet the Father ran to him with approval and celebration.
