"I need to pay off all my debt before I can experience God's financial blessing."
How it sounds in your head: Dave Ramsey says debt is the enemy and you can't build wealth until you're debt-free. My student loans are a ceiling over my head. God can't fully bless me while I'm buried in what I owe. Freedom comes after the last payment.
"Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt."
-- Matthew 18:27Financial religion teaching debt as moral failure blocking God's favor, rather than seeing supernatural debt cancellation as Biblical precedent and covenant right.
The debt feels like a chain around his ankles every month. Every financial teacher says get out of debt first, then build. The numbers are overwhelming and seem to prove he's stuck until he pays it off himself.
A servant owed 10,000 talents to the king - an amount so massive it would take multiple lifetimes of labor to repay, essentially impossible. He begged for time, but the master didn't give him a payment plan - he FORGAVE THE ENTIRE AMOUNT in one compassionate decision.
I REFUSE the lie that debt is a ceiling blocking God's blessing until I pay it all off myself. IT IS WRITTEN that the master forgave 10,000 talents - BILLIONS - in one moment of compassion. My debt isn't too big for supernatural cancellation. IT IS WRITTEN that the widow's impossible lifetime debt was erased in one afternoon through multiplied oil. I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK blessing includes debt cancellation, supernatural provision, and favor that makes creditors generous. God isn't waiting for my last payment to start blessing me - He's moving toward me NOW with oil that multiplies, fish with coins, and masters who cancel what I could never pay. My identity is SON, not DEBTOR.
Your Father doesn't see your student loans as a disqualification from blessing. He's the God who forgave the prodigal's WASTED inheritance (essentially debt to the family) and gave him the ring of authority anyway - full access, zero payment plan, immediate restoration.
