"I need to learn to live with pain instead of expecting healing."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe faith isn't about healing. Maybe it's about acceptance. Everyone keeps saying 'God's grace is sufficient,' which sounds like code for 'you're not getting healed.' Maybe mature Christians just accept reality and stop asking.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religious lie disguised as maturity that redefines faith as resignation and calls surrender to pain 'wisdom.'
He's heard testimonies of people 'finding peace in suffering' and suspects that's the real Christian goal. When healing doesn't happen immediately, accepting pain feels more spiritual than continuing to ask.
Blind beggar screaming for Jesus while the crowd told him to SHUT UP and accept his place. He refused to be quiet. Jesus stopped, called him over, asked what he wanted. Bartimaeus said 'I want to SEE,' and IMMEDIATELY received sight.
I REFUSE the lie that accepting pain is spiritual maturity. IT IS WRITTEN: 'I pray you prosper in all things and be in health.' God's will is HEALTH—accepting less is agreeing with the thief. Jesus healed EVERYONE who asked and never said 'learn to live with it.' IT IS WRITTEN: 'By His stripes you WERE healed'—past tense, finished work. I'm not being stubborn—I'm being BIBLICAL. Like Bartimaeus, I refuse to let religious crowds silence my expectation. I cry LOUDER: Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!
The Father isn't waiting for you to 'mature' into accepting pain. He's waiting for you to mature into EXPECTING healing like a son who knows his Father's nature. You're not bothering Him—you're DELIGHTING Him by asking for what He DIED to give you.
