She's been taught consequences for actions her whole life. Pain feels like punishment because church culture often presents God as cosmic cop waiting to discipline. She's searching her memory for what she did wrong to deserve this.
Actual criminal being executed for real crimes, mocked Jesus initially, had literally NOTHING to offer. The moment he believed, Jesus promised him Paradise—no probation, no punishment, no 'prove yourself first.' Instant forgiveness for a guilty man.

Your Father isn't punishing you—He punished your sin in Jesus so thoroughly that there's nothing left to punish. He's running toward you with healing, not because you earned it, but because His Son already paid for it and you're His beloved daughter.
