"I need to accept this as my thorn and stop asking for change."
How it sounds in your head: Paul had a thorn. Maybe this is yours. Maybe God is teaching you something through suffering. Maybe faith means surrender, not expectation. Stop being greedy—just accept it.
"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!"
-- Matthew 7:11Religion weaponizing Paul's thorn to justify unanswered prayer and make suffering virtuous.
Asking for healing feels presumptuous when nothing's changed. Accepting limitation feels more 'mature' than continuing to hope. Suffering starts to feel spiritual.
Blind beggar shouting for Jesus. The crowd told him to BE QUIET—stop asking, accept your place. He shouted LOUDER. Jesus stopped, called him, asked 'What do you want?' Bartimaeus said 'I want to SEE.' Jesus said 'Go, your faith has made you well.' IMMEDIATELY he received sight.
I REFUSE the lie that I should stop asking for breakthrough. IT IS WRITTEN: My Father gives GOOD gifts to those who ask—not stones, not sickness, not suffering. Jesus healed EVERYONE who came. Bartimaeus was told to be quiet—he shouted LOUDER and received sight IMMEDIATELY. IT IS WRITTEN: I am redeemed from the curse, blessed in every way. I will not call sickness a gift or suffering a thorn—I call on the NAME above every name, and breakthrough is MY inheritance.
The Father isn't annoyed by your persistent asking—He's DELIGHTED, running toward you like He did Bartimaeus, asking 'What do you WANT?' He's not waiting for you to stop asking—He's waiting to answer.
