"I'm a burden to my family and would be better off gone."
How it sounds in your head: They have to help you now. You see the exhaustion in their eyes. You cost them time, money, freedom. They'd have easier lives without you in the way.
"Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them."
-- Psalm 139:16Source: Enemy accusation amplified by a culture that values productivity over presence, measuring worth by what you contribute instead of who you are.
Every request for help confirms it. You see them rearrange schedules, spend money on equipment, sacrifice plans. The math seems clear—you subtract more than you add.
Jacob, old and dependent on his sons for everything, unable to contribute physically, blessed Pharaoh—the most powerful man on earth. His presence carried such weight that Pharaoh asked for his blessing, proving worth isn't about what you can do.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm a burden better off gone. IT IS WRITTEN that God numbered ALL my days, including these ones, before I was born—every day has divine purpose whether I see it or not. My value isn't in my productivity but in my position as God's image-bearer, Abraham's seed, covenant son covered by the BARAK blessing. IT IS WRITTEN in Jeremiah 29:11 that God has plans to prosper me and give me a FUTURE and a HOPE—not plans to discard me when I slow down. The enemy comes to steal, kill, destroy, but Jesus came to give LIFE abundantly. I am presence, not just production. I am loved, not tolerated. I am wanted, not endured.
The Father isn't calculating your care costs—He's celebrating every moment He gets with you. You're the son He's been watching for, and He'd spend everything just to have you home.
