"I need more Bible knowledge before I can exercise spiritual authority effectively."
How it sounds in your head: I know some verses, but not like those guys who can quote chapter and reference on the spot. I haven't done the Greek word studies or read all the theology books. Feels reckless to go into spiritual warfare half-educated. I should probably take a class or read more before I step into that level of authority.
"Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven."
-- Matthew 18:3Source: Religion making authority about INFORMATION instead of POSITION, turning warfare into an academic exercise instead of enforcing finished victory.
You respect knowledge and expertise—your career was built on it. The idea of stepping into spiritual authority without being a walking concordance feels like going into surgery without medical school. Surely the MORE you know, the MORE authority you have. Right?
David had no military training, no theological degree, no giant-killing credentials—just faith in the name of the Lord of hosts. Saul tried to give him armor and a sword (the 'proper' equipment/knowledge), but David said 'I haven't tested these' and went with a sling and a stone. He killed Goliath not with expertise but with FAITH in the name of God.
I REFUSE the lie that I need more Bible knowledge before I can walk in authority. IT IS WRITTEN that unless I become as a little child, I cannot enter the kingdom—and children don't need PhDs to trust their Father. My authority comes from my POSITION in Christ, not from my theological library. IT IS WRITTEN that the disciples were unlearned and ignorant men, yet the religious leaders marveled because they had been WITH JESUS (Acts 4:13). Knowledge is good, but RELATIONSHIP is the source of authority. IT IS WRITTEN that I have been given authority over ALL the power of the enemy—not after I finish a course, but RIGHT NOW because I'm IN CHRIST. The enemy doesn't bow to my education—he bows to the NAME I carry.
The Father isn't waiting for you to graduate before He uses you—He's placed you IN CHRIST where authority is immediate, not earned through study. Like the prodigal's father who gave the ring before the son could recite one Scripture, God gives authority based on SONSHIP, not on scholarship.
