"I can't take authority because I don't feel powerful or confident enough."
How it sounds in your head: When I try to pray with authority, my voice shakes. I feel silly commanding demons when I can barely command my teenager to clean their room. Other people sound so bold and certain. I just feel like I'm pretending, play-acting at something I don't really possess.
"Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:10Emotional-based authority assessment instead of covenant-based reality; feelings worshipped over Scripture truth.
Her feelings tell her she's weak, and she believes feelings over Scripture. Culture has taught her to 'be authentic to your feelings,' making confidence seem like prerequisite to authority. She hasn't seen breakthrough yet, which reinforces the feeling of powerlessness.
The angel called Gideon 'mighty warrior' while he was literally HIDING in fear, threshing wheat in a winepress to avoid enemies. God addressed his IDENTITY, not his feelings. Gideon felt terrified; God called him mighty. God was right. Gideon led Israel to instant victory.
I REFUSE the lie that my feelings determine my authority. IT IS WRITTEN: When I am weak, THEN I am strong, because Christ's power rests on me. My authority is not based on my confidence but on His COVENANT. I am not waiting to FEEL powerful—I AM powerful because I am in Christ. IT IS WRITTEN: The weapons of my warfare are not carnal but MIGHTY through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Not 'mighty when I feel confident.' MIGHTY. Period. Gideon was called 'mighty warrior' while hiding in fear. God called him by his IDENTITY, not his emotion. I am a daughter of the King covered by the BARAK blessing, and my trembling voice carries the weight of Heaven's throne.
The Father isn't waiting for you to feel confident before He calls you mighty—He's already calling you 'warrior' while you're hiding in fear. He's running toward you saying 'I see who you ARE in Me, not how you FEEL about yourself.'
