"I must have sin blocking my healing. I need to figure out what I did wrong."
How it sounds in your head: Other people get healed, so clearly I'm doing something wrong. Maybe there's unforgiveness I haven't dealt with, or hidden sin I'm not seeing. If I could just get spiritually clean enough, then God would heal me.
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
-- Colossians 2:13-14Source: Religious teaching that makes healing performance-based rather than covenant-based, contradicting the finished work of the cross where Jesus already dealt with ALL sin.
She's heard countless testimonies that start with 'When I finally forgave...' or 'After I dealt with...' making healing sound like a reward for spiritual housecleaning. Prayer lines have people asking 'Is there any unforgiveness?' before praying, reinforcing the lie.
Jesus didn't ask about his sin, his faith level, or his spiritual condition before healing. He simply said 'Rise, take up your bed and walk' and IMMEDIATELY the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked - no confession required, no spiritual checklist.
I REFUSE the lie that my sin is blocking my healing. IT IS WRITTEN that God has forgiven me ALL trespasses and wiped out every requirement against me, nailing them to the cross. There is NOW no condemnation for me in Christ Jesus. My healing doesn't depend on my ability to confess perfectly but on Jesus' finished work completely. IT IS WRITTEN that by His stripes I am healed - past tense, done deal. I am righteous by gift, not by performance. The BARAK blessing covers me not because I'm perfect but because I'm in Christ, and that blessing includes wholeness in my body.
The Father isn't waiting for you to find and confess every hidden sin before releasing healing - He already forgave ALL your trespasses at the cross and is running toward you with healing while you still smell like failure. The prodigal's father didn't make him clean up before the embrace; he embraced him in the mess.
