"If I was really faithful and had enough faith, this pain would already be gone. My continued suffering proves my weak faith."
How it sounds in your head: I see others testify about instant healings. What's wrong with my faith? I pray, I believe, I declare, but the pain remains. Clearly I'm doing something wrong or not believing hard enough. My weak faith is the problem.
"For what if some did not believe? Will their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without effect? Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar."
-- Romans 3:3-4Performance-based faith theology making healing conditional on human faith quality rather than God's nature.
Comparison to others' testimonies creates measuring stick—they got healed, you didn't, the variable must be faith quality. Teachers emphasize 'according to your faith' making you responsible for the outcome.
Servant of the high priest, there to ARREST Jesus, ear cut off by Peter. Had ZERO faith in Jesus, was actively opposing Him. Jesus touched him and IMMEDIATELY healed his ear—instant healing for an enemy with no faith at all.
The Father isn't waiting for you to muster more faith. He's doing what Jesus did with Malchus: healing even when there's ZERO faith on the receiving end, because healing flows from HIS NATURE, not your performance.
