"God is using this pain to teach me patience and dependence on Him."
How it sounds in your head: Everything happens for a reason. God allowed this pain for your spiritual growth. If He healed you too quickly, you'd go back to self-reliance. This suffering is making you more like Jesus, teaching you to depend on Him instead of your own strength. It's painful but purposeful.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."

Well-meaning Christians have told her this, it sounds spiritual and humble, and she HAS grown closer to God through suffering—seeming to confirm that pain was the necessary path. It reframes disappointment as divine design.
Disciples asked if his blindness was punishment for his sin or his parents' sin—seeking spiritual explanation for suffering. Jesus said NEITHER—'that the works of God should be revealed in him'—then IMMEDIATELY healed him. God's plan wasn't prolonged blindness for character development but instant healing for glory revelation.
I REFUSE the lie that God authors pain to teach me. IT IS WRITTEN: the thief comes to steal and destroy, but Jesus came to give ABUNDANT LIFE. Pain is theft, not tuition. God teaches through His Word and Spirit, not through suffering. The BARAK blessing includes health, and Jesus HEALED all oppressed by the devil—pain is oppression, not God's curriculum. IT IS WRITTEN: every good and perfect gift comes from the Father. I receive healing NOW because that's the Father's heart, not waiting for lessons pain cannot teach.
The Father isn't withholding healing until you've learned enough patience—He's eager to heal you NOW so you can experience His goodness, not His training program. Like the man born blind was healed immediately (not after years of character building), you're healed because Jesus is good, not because you've graduated suffering school.
