"I just have to accept this level of pain as normal now."
How it sounds in your head: You're adapting, being realistic, mature about it. This is what being an adult means - accepting that bodies break down. Your dad has knee pain, your coach has shoulder issues, everyone just deals with something. Time to grow up and accept your limitation.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religious spirit calls surrender to pain 'maturity' and 'accepting God's will' when God's will was demonstrated by Jesus healing EVERYONE who came.
Every adult around you manages some chronic issue and calls it normal. Acceptance feels like wisdom compared to the disappointment of hoping and failing. Lowering expectations protects from more hurt.
Blind beggar, everyone told him to be quiet and accept his place. He refused to accept blindness as normal, cried out louder, and IMMEDIATELY received his sight when Jesus spoke. Same day, same moment - from blind beggar to seeing follower.
I REFUSE the lie that pain is my new normal. IT IS WRITTEN: God's will is that I 'be in health' - not in coping, not in management, in HEALTH. What Jesus called the Father's will, I will not call mine to accept. Bartimaeus refused to accept blindness just because everyone else did, and he saw that same day. IT IS WRITTEN: 'By His stripes I am healed' - I don't accept stripes when Jesus already took them. The BARAK covenant means I am blessed in my body, coming and going, and pain is not a blessing. I am the head, not the tail - and the head doesn't bow to pain.
While you're trying to make peace with pain, Father is running toward you furious that you'd accept what He already paid to remove. He's not asking you to be mature about suffering; He's offering you the same immediate healing that made Bartimaeus throw off his beggar's coat mid-crowd.
