"I love too hard and scare people off. My intensity in relationships overwhelms and pushes people away before they're ready."
How it sounds in your head: You felt him pull back when you said how much you cared. You watched the friendship cool when you showed up too fully. You've been told you move too fast emotionally. You've learned to ration your love, hold back your care, pace yourself artificially because giving fully seems to terrify people.
"We love because He first loved us."
-- 1 John 4:19Enemy's strategy to shut down the love capacity that was meant to demonstrate the Father's heart, combined with a defended culture afraid of vulnerability.
People have literally told you it's too much too soon. You've felt the withdrawal that happens when you love without self-protection. You've lost relationships because your depth came before their readiness.
Mary brought an alabaster flask of expensive oil and washed Jesus' feet with her tears, kissing them and wiping them with her hair—a display so intimate and intense the Pharisees were scandalized. Jesus didn't tell her to tone it down or love more appropriately. He defended her extravagant love and said she'd be remembered for it.
I REFUSE the lie that I love too hard or that my intensity in relationships is a problem. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 John 4:19 that I love because HE FIRST loved me—my capacity for deep love is a direct reflection of being saturated in His unlimited love. God's love was poured out in my heart, not measured. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 5:5 that this love comes from the Holy Spirit Himself. My fierce love isn't too much; it's the BARAK blessing flowing through me. I will not apologize for loving like my Father loves—fully, immediately, without reservation.
Your Father isn't asking you to love less or more carefully—He put that massive capacity to love IN you because it reflects His own heart. He doesn't see you as too intense; He sees you as dangerously close to loving like He does, which is exactly the point.
