"My sexual needs are excessive—wanting sex frequently makes me selfish and immature."
How it sounds in your head: You want sex too often. She's tired, busy with kids, not in the mood, and here you are again making her feel pressured. Real mature men don't need physical intimacy this much. Your sex drive is a problem to manage, a weakness that reveals you're still just a boy in a man's body.
"Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control."
-- 1 Corinthians 7:5Religious shame around male sexuality teaching desire itself is inherently sinful.
The rejection stings every time—the sigh, the 'again?', the feeling like you're some kind of pervert for wanting your own wife. Culture says men are sex-obsessed pigs, church says 'die to self,' and you're stuck feeling guilty for the way God literally designed you.
Jacob worked SEVEN YEARS for Rachel, 'and they seemed only a few days to him because of the love he had for her.' Intense desire for his wife wasn't portrayed as immature—it was romantic, covenantal, and blessed by God throughout their marriage.
I REFUSE the lie that my God-designed sexuality is excessive or shameful. IT IS WRITTEN that marriage beds are UNDEFILED and that spouses should not deprive one another—my desire is BIBLICAL, not broken. I am not a perverted boy; I am a COVENANT MAN with a sex drive God Himself designed and called GOOD. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed in ALL I set my hand to, and that includes physical intimacy in marriage. The BARAK blessing covers my sexuality just like it covered Abraham and Jacob—covenant men with desire, passion, and God's favor. I am a BRANCH connected to the Vine, and healthy branches produce FRUIT, including the fruit of physical intimacy. My Father doesn't shame what He created.
The Father is running toward you saying, 'I designed you AS A MAN with desire, strength, and passion—that's not a flaw, that's INTENTIONAL.' He's not handing you shame; He's handing you the ROBE of righteousness that says your sexuality within covenant is HOLY and GOOD.
