"I lost all the money, so I ruined my family's future forever."
How it sounds in your head: Dad's going to think I'm irresponsible. Maybe I am. What if we can't recover? What if I messed up mom and dad's trust in me? Other guys my age didn't lose money like this.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."
-- Joel 2:25Enemy + world: Money lost equals future destroyed. You're the problem.
Money is actually gone and he sees the stress it causes. At his age, adults' financial anxiety transfers directly to him as personal failure.
He demanded his inheritance early, blew EVERYTHING on prostitutes and wild living, ended up with literally zero. The father restored him to full sonship with ring, robe, and feast in minutes - no payment plan, no probation period.
I REFUSE the lie that lost money means a ruined future. IT IS WRITTEN that God will restore the years the locust has eaten - what was consumed can be restored by His Word. I am under the barak blessing of Abraham: I am blessed in my storehouse, the Lord commands blessing on what I have, I lend and don't borrow. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed me from the curse of poverty so the blessing of provision is mine by covenant. My family's future is secured by HIS promise, not my past mistakes. Restoration is already in motion because my Father runs toward me, not away from me.
The Father doesn't see your bank account - He sees His son. Like the prodigal who lost everything, you're getting the ring and robe and party, not a lecture and payment plan. He's been fattening the calf waiting for this moment.
