"God is punishing me with this business failure for past sins I never fully dealt with."
How it sounds in your head: I know there are things in my past I never fully confessed or made right. Maybe this business loss is God finally settling accounts, teaching me a lesson I needed to learn decades ago.
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."

Everyone has unconfessed sin, and the timing of loss feels like cosmic justice when viewed through a punishment lens.
A criminal guilty of actual crimes, no time to make restitution, couldn't even get baptized or join a church, yet Jesus said 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise.' Instant, complete forgiveness with zero works, zero process, zero punishment.
I REFUSE the lie that God is punishing me for past sins or that this business failure is cosmic payback. IT IS WRITTEN that He has FORGIVEN me ALL trespasses and wiped out EVERY requirement against me, nailing it to the cross. There is NOW NO CONDEMNATION to those in Christ Jesus—that's me. IT IS WRITTEN that the thief on the cross received Paradise with zero good works and maximum sin. The BARAK blessing doesn't punish—it protected MURDERERS in Jacob's family. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and my Father is not angry; He's running toward me with the robe and ring.
While you're digging up old sins to explain the loss, the Father is digging up the fattened calf to celebrate your return. He's not punishing you—He punished JESUS. There's nothing left to settle, no account still open, no lesson hidden in the loss.
