"I have to hold it together for everyone else; my pain doesn't matter because I'm the leader."
How it sounds in your head: People need me strong. If I grieve, doubt, or break, who holds the church? My crisis takes a backseat. Leaders don't get to fall apart.
"Jesus wept."
-- John 11:35Source: False strength culture that forbids leaders from being human.
He's been the rock through everyone else's tragedy while stuffing his own grief. The expectation to 'be strong' for others feels non-negotiable, and showing pain feels like weakness.
As KING, David tore his clothes, wept, fasted, and mourned publicly when Saul and Jonathan died. He led from GRIEF, not from pretending. His vulnerability became Scripture (Psalms).
I REFUSE the lie that my pain is less important. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus wept—the greatest Leader FELT deeply. I am HUMAN, not a robot. My grief doesn't disqualify me; my pretending suffocates me. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation for my breaking. I declare the BARAK blessing over my vulnerability: God commands strength IN weakness, not instead of it. The Father runs to me in my tears, not away from them.
The Father is running toward you in your breaking, not waiting for you to compose yourself. He's embracing you while you're still sobbing, throwing a party for your HONESTY, not your stoicism.
