How it sounds in your head: Every sermon says forgive and you'll be healed. But when I think about what they did—the neglect, the words, the abandonment—I feel rage, not forgiveness. I must be blocking my own breakthrough. My bitterness is the problem now, not what they did.

She's been told repeatedly that unforgiveness is a prison and she holds the key. When healing doesn't come, she assumes it's because she hasn't forgiven 'enough' or 'right.'
Brothers sold him into slavery, lied to their father, destroyed 13 years of his life. Joseph didn't 'work through forgiveness'—he INSTANTLY saw God's hand in it and blessed them the moment he had power, providing for those who betrayed him without them earning it.
I REFUSE the lie that my unforgiveness is holding me hostage. IT IS WRITTEN that God has ALREADY forgiven me ALL trespasses and made me ALIVE in Christ. My freedom is not dependent on my ability to muster up perfect forgiveness—it's dependent on CHRIST'S finished work. I release my parents into God's hands, not because I've manufactured the feelings, but because IT IS WRITTEN that vengeance belongs to the Lord. I receive the healing Jesus ALREADY purchased. I am not stuck—I am SEALED by the Holy Spirit and fully alive in Him RIGHT NOW.
The Father isn't waiting for you to 'get there' with forgiveness—He's already THERE, running toward you with healing in His hands while you're still processing the pain. He doesn't require you to feel ready; He declares you FREE because of what Jesus did, not what you do.
