"I have to figure out HOW God will provide before I can believe."
How it sounds in your head: I don't see how this could possibly work. Where would the money come from? My parents don't have it. I can't earn it. There's no logical path. Until I see HOW, I can't really believe. I need a plan. I need to see the steps. Faith without a visible strategy feels like foolishness.
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
-- Proverbs 3:5-6Source: Western rationalism demands logical pathway before trusting supernatural provision.
His entire education trains logical problem-solving with visible steps. Trusting without seeing the method feels irresponsible and naive, like setting himself up for disappointment.
Peter needed tax money and had no logical source. Jesus didn't explain the economics—He said go fishing, first fish will have a coin in its mouth. Completely ILLOGICAL method. Peter obeyed without understanding HOW, cast once, and got exact money needed INSTANTLY.
I REFUSE the lie that I need to see HOW before I believe. IT IS WRITTEN to trust the Lord with ALL my heart and lean NOT on my understanding. Peter didn't know HOW a fish would have money, but he obeyed and found exact provision. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 55:8-9 that God's ways are HIGHER than my ways, His thoughts than my thoughts—I don't need to figure out His methods. The BARAK blessing provided for Abraham in ways he never planned—rescued by Melchizedek, blessed by Pharaoh, wealth from Abimelech. God has a THOUSAND ways to provide that I haven't imagined. Ephesians 3:20 says He does ABOVE what I can THINK—beyond my logic. I trust HIM, not my strategy.
Your Father didn't wait for the prodigal to have a plan—He RAN while the son was still far off, PROVIDED everything before the son explained how he'd earn it back. He's not asking for your blueprint; He's asking for your TRUST, and His provision is already in motion.
