"I don't have enough natural leadership ability to ever influence or lead others."
How it sounds in your head: You're a follower, not a leader. When group projects happen, someone else takes charge and you just go along. The idea of standing in front of people and leading anything makes you want to disappear. Leaders are born, not made, and you weren't born one.
"So he said to Him, 'O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.' And the LORD said to him, 'Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.'"
-- Judges 6:15-16World's leadership definition (charisma, dominance) replacing Christ's model (servanthood, Holy Spirit).
You have clear evidence of NOT being the one people naturally follow. Other guys seem to have inborn authority while you're more comfortable blending in.
Gideon was hiding, calling himself the weakest, from the poorest family. God called him MIGHTY WARRIOR and used him to defeat entire armies with just 300 men—instant promotion from fearful to victorious without leadership training.
I REFUSE the lie that I lack leadership ability. IT IS WRITTEN that God called hiding, fearful Gideon a MIGHTY WARRIOR and used him to defeat armies. Moses said 'I can't speak well' and God said 'I WILL BE WITH YOUR MOUTH.' Leadership is not about my natural charisma but God's supernatural presence. IT IS WRITTEN in Philippians 2:13 that it is GOD who works in me both to will and to do His good pleasure. I don't manufacture leadership qualities—He produces them through me as I abide. The BARAK blessing made Abraham a father of NATIONS before he had even ONE child. God calls things that are not as though they were.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to become a natural leader—He's the one who took stuttering Moses to confront Pharaoh, took youngest-brother David to lead a nation, and took denying Peter to build His church. He doesn't need your leadership résumé; He lends you His authority in the moment you need it.
