"I wasted my beauty and body on the wrong things."
How it sounds in your head: You look in the mirror at what age has taken and remember what you once had—the youth, the beauty, the body you took for granted or gave to people who didn't deserve it. Now it's gone and you can't get it back.
"Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised."
-- Proverbs 31:30Source: culture's idolatry of youth and beauty combined with enemy's accusation over past choices.
The mirror doesn't lie about what's been lost, and you can trace specific decisions where you gave your body or beauty to relationships or pursuits that weren't worth it. Time has erased what you once had.
Five failed marriages, currently living with a man not her husband, came to the well at noon to avoid other women's judgment. Jesus didn't condemn her past or mention her wasted years—gave her LIVING WATER and made her the FIRST EVANGELIST to her entire city IMMEDIATELY.
I REFUSE the lie that I wasted my beauty and body on the wrong things and am now worthless. IT IS WRITTEN in Proverbs 31:30 that beauty is PASSING—it was always temporary, never the source of my value. My true beauty is the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, VERY PRECIOUS in God's sight (1 Peter 3:3-4). IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1)—my past choices are under the BLOOD. I am under the BARAK blessing that covered Rahab the harlot and still made her great-great-grandmother of King David. I declare: What I gave away doesn't define me; what CHRIST GAVE covers me. My value is in HIM, and that never fades, never diminishes, never depends on what the mirror shows.
The Father isn't mourning what you've lost—He's running toward you with the ROBE of righteousness that has nothing to do with your physical appearance, the same God who took the Woman at the Well with five failed marriages and made her an EVANGELIST in one conversation. Your worth was never in what fades; it's in what's ETERNAL in you.
