"I can't tell anyone I'm struggling because leaders are supposed to have it together."
How it sounds in your head: You're the one people come to for answers. If you admit you're drowning, they'll lose confidence in you. Men don't show weakness. Pastors don't fall apart. You have to keep the mask on.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Source: Religion's false standard—demanding leaders be superhuman instead of dependent on grace.
You've seen leaders fall and get discarded. Vulnerability feels like career suicide. People expect you to be strong, and admitting struggle feels like disqualifying yourself.
Peter publicly denied Jesus three times, cursing and swearing he didn't know Him—the ultimate leadership failure. Jesus didn't disqualify him; He RESTORED him instantly by the fire and said, 'Feed My sheep,' giving him greater ministry than before.
I REFUSE the lie that I must hide my struggles to lead well. IT IS WRITTEN that God's strength is perfected in my weakness, not in my fake togetherness. I am a BRANCH dependent on the VINE—honesty about my weakness is the path to His power. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ. The BARAK blessing covers me even when I'm struggling—favor doesn't leave because I'm honest. I declare FREEDOM to be real and INSTANT grace for my weakness.
The Father doesn't love the masked version of you more than the real one. He's running toward you IN your struggle, not waiting for you to fix it first. He's saying, 'Let Me be strong in your weakness—that's where My glory shines.'
