"If people knew how much I struggle spiritually, they'd reject me and I'd lose my platform."
How it sounds in your head: I'm supposed to have it together—I'm leading others. If they knew I barely pray, struggle with doubt, or feel distant from God, they'd see I'm a hypocrite. I'd lose everything I've built.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Performance-based ministry culture that demands leaders project perfection instead of modeling dependence on grace.
She's watched other leaders fall from grace after admitting struggles. The church celebrates victory stories, not ongoing battles. Vulnerability feels like career suicide.
Jesus told Peter he would DENY Him three times—total failure was coming. Yet Jesus said, 'When you have returned, STRENGTHEN your brothers.' Ministry wasn't revoked; it was SECURED through failure and restoration.
I REFUSE the lie that my struggles disqualify me from ministry. IT IS WRITTEN that God's strength is made perfect in weakness, and my honesty positions me for greater grace, not rejection. I am not called to project perfection but to model dependence on the Vine. IT IS WRITTEN that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus—my position is secure regardless of my performance. I receive the blessing of Abraham, protected by COVENANT even when I stumble. My platform is built on His faithfulness, not my flawlessness.
The Father is saying, 'I don't need your performance—I want your honesty.' He's running toward your struggle with embrace, not critique, because He already knows and hasn't moved an inch away.
