"I can't command demons because I still struggle with fear and doubt myself."
How it sounds in your head: Real warriors are fearless, confident, bold. You still wake up anxious, still question yourself, still feel afraid. How can you command anything when you can't even command your own emotions? Authority requires certainty, and you're full of questions.
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
-- 2 Timothy 1:7Source: religion's lie that feeling fear means lacking faith, making authority dependent on emotional state.
You watch confident believers command atmospheres while you're still battling panic attacks. Surely authority flows from inner strength, and yours feels depleted.
God called Gideon 'mighty warrior' while he was hiding in a winepress, terrified of the enemy. Gideon argued, doubted, asked for multiple signs—yet God used him to defeat an entire army with 300 men and torches. His fear didn't disqualify him; God's call qualified him instantly.
I REFUSE the lie that my feelings of fear disqualify me from spiritual authority. IT IS WRITTEN that God has not given me a spirit of fear but of POWER, love, and a sound mind. My authority is not based on my emotional state—it's based on the blood of Jesus and His finished work. Gideon was terrified, doubting, hiding—and God still called him mighty warrior and gave him instant victory. IT IS WRITTEN that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. My trembling hands can still wield the Sword of the Spirit. My anxious heart can still speak the Name that makes demons flee. I am not defined by my fear; I am defined by whose I am.
The Father sees you as Gideon—He's calling you 'mighty warrior' while you're still hiding, still shaking. He's not waiting for you to feel brave; He's declaring you brave because you're His, and that's enough.
