"Girls aren't supposed to be warriors—spiritual authority is for boys and men."
How it sounds in your head: I see boys and men leading prayers and taking authority, but I'm supposed to be quiet and gentle. Maybe spiritual warfare is too aggressive or masculine for me. I should let the guys handle fighting while I just pray softly.
"And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions."
-- Joel 2:28Source: World and religion systems assign spiritual authority based on gender—contradicting the Spirit who falls on sons AND daughters equally.
You've seen mostly men and boys modeled as warriors and fighters in church and stories. Being a girl feels like it should mean being softer, quieter, less confrontational.
Deborah was a prophet and judge leading all of Israel when a military commander (Barak) wouldn't go to battle without her. She had more spiritual authority than the male warriors—instant respect because God's Spirit was ON her, regardless of gender.
I REFUSE the lie that spiritual authority is only for males. IT IS WRITTEN that God pours out His Spirit on sons AND daughters equally. I am not a lesser warrior because I'm a girl—I carry the SAME Spirit, the SAME authority, the SAME blood covenant. Deborah led armies. Esther saved nations. Jael killed enemy kings. IT IS WRITTEN that I am more than a conqueror through Christ. I walk under the BARAK blessing—covenant favor that doesn't discriminate by gender. When I speak the name of Jesus, demons flee just as fast as they would from anyone else. I am a DAUGHTER OF THE KING, and that makes me royalty and a warrior.
The Father has never looked at you and thought 'If only you were a boy, THEN you could be powerful.' He sees a fierce daughter with His Spirit inside, and He's proud of the warrior you already are.
