"I ask for too many things. I'm high maintenance and people secretly wish I needed less."
How it sounds in your head: I see my mom sigh when I ask her to drive me somewhere. My friends don't respond to my texts as fast as they used to. I feel like everyone's doing me favors and keeping score. Maybe if I just stopped asking for stuff, people wouldn't be so annoyed with me.
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
-- Philippians 4:19Religious spirit saying your needs are a burden to God and others.
You've seen irritation flash across faces when you ask for help. You've heard 'AGAIN?' when you need something. You calculate in your head whether you've asked too much this week before speaking up.
God told Solomon to ask for ANYTHING he wanted. Solomon asked for wisdom, and God was so pleased He threw in riches, honor, and long life Solomon didn't even ask for—because BIG ASKS delight the Father.
I REFUSE the lie that my needs are too much. IT IS WRITTEN that my God shall supply ALL my need according to HIS riches in glory. I am not high maintenance—I am HIGH VALUE because Christ paid the highest price for me. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed in the city and in the field, coming in and going out. The BARAK blessing means provision flows TO me, not away from me. My needs don't diminish God's supply—His riches are INFINITE. I ask boldly because I am a loved son, not a burden.
The Father doesn't sigh when you ask—He CELEBRATES that you know where to come. He's not keeping score; He already threw the list away at the cross and said 'IT IS FINISHED—now come get EVERYTHING.'
