"God's big plans are for future-me when I'm grown up, not for right-now-me."
How it sounds in your head: When pastors talk about God's calling and purpose, they're talking to adults. Your purpose is coming later. Right now you're supposed to behave, learn, and wait. The good stuff - the mission, the calling, the adventure - that's for when you're older. Right now is preparation.
"Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, 'I have no pleasure in them.'"
-- Ecclesiastes 12:1Religion - pushing purpose into the future to keep you passive in the present. Enemy delaying your activation by making you believe you're not operational yet.
Every sermon about calling and purpose seems aimed at adults making career choices. Nobody talks about middle school purpose. It feels like right now is just about getting through homework and staying out of trouble until real life starts.
Became king at EIGHT years old and immediately began doing what was right. At sixteen he started national revival. Didn't wait to be older to fulfill calling - WAS ALREADY WALKING IN IT as a child.
I REFUSE the lie that God's purpose for me is on hold until I'm older. IT IS WRITTEN to remember my Creator NOW in the days of my youth, meaning His plans are ACTIVE today, not someday. IT IS WRITTEN that He knew me before I was formed in the womb, so His purpose has been operational longer than I've been alive. I am not in a waiting room - I am IN THE MISSION. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and righteousness isn't scheduled for activation at eighteen. I am a branch bearing fruit TODAY because branches don't produce practice fruit while waiting to produce real fruit. The BARAK blessing of Abraham flows through me NOW by covenant. God isn't preparing me for future purpose - He's RELEASING purpose through me in sixth grade.
The Father isn't making you wait. He's running toward you with assignments and adventure RIGHT NOW. The robe, ring, and sandals aren't for when you graduate. They're on you TODAY because you're a son NOW, and sons don't have activation dates.
