"God's answer is taking so long that I must have prayed wrong or not had enough faith."
How it sounds in your head: If my faith was stronger, this would have happened already. I must be doing something wrong or not believing hard enough. Maybe I didn't pray the right way and that's why God hasn't answered.
"Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."
-- 1 John 5:14-15Religion: Performance-based prayer theology makes the answer dependent on human technique rather than divine character, turning prayer into a formula to master.
She's heard sermons about 'praying in faith' and 'believing without doubting' which sound like her faith level is the variable controlling God's response. When nothing changes, she assumes she failed the faith test.
The centurion said 'just speak the word' and Jesus marveled at his faith—but the servant was healed 'that same hour' not because the centurion had perfect faith but because Jesus is faithful. The power was in the Word, not the asker.
I REFUSE the lie that delay means my faith failed or I prayed wrong. IT IS WRITTEN that if I ask according to His will, He hears me, and if He hears me, I HAVE the petition—present tense possession, not future hope. The answer isn't based on my faith performance but His faithful nature. IT IS WRITTEN in Hebrews 11:6 that without faith it's impossible to please Him, and He rewards those who diligently seek Him—the reward is His nature, not my achievement. I am righteous by GIFT not grade, and I stand under the BARAK blessing that covered Abraham even when he lied. I declare my prayers are heard and answered because of WHO HE IS, not how well I prayed.
Father isn't grading your prayer like a school assignment—He's responding as a Dad who runs toward you. Your stammering, doubting, barely-there faith is enough because His love isn't conditional on your eloquence or certainty.
