"All this waiting has been a waste of my life."
How it sounds in your head: Look at the years you've spent hoping, believing, trusting—and nothing. You could have lived differently, chosen differently, if you'd known this was all it would amount to. Wasted time. Wasted faith. Wasted life.
"Then I said, 'I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and in vain; yet surely my just reward is with the LORD, and my work with my God.'"
-- Isaiah 49:4Enemy's lie that time spent trusting God is time wasted—making you measure life by visible results instead of unseen faithfulness.
You can count the years, the prayers, the tears, and when you look at the 'return on investment,' it feels like zero. Friends who didn't wait, didn't trust, seem happier or more successful.
He spent 13 years in slavery and prison for crimes he didn't commit, waiting on a promise from two dreams. Those years looked utterly wasted—until they positioned him to save nations from famine. What the enemy meant for waste, God meant for worldwide deliverance.
I REFUSE the lie that my waiting has been wasted. IT IS WRITTEN that my just reward is with the Lord, and NOTHING done in faith is ever lost. Every tear is bottled (Psalm 56:8), every prayer is recorded, every act of trust is seen and rewarded. I am not building a resume; I'm building a TESTIMONY that will demolish lies in others. IT IS WRITTEN that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. My 'wasted' years are PREPARATION years, and the breakthrough will prove every moment had purpose.
The Father doesn't see any of your waiting as wasted—He sees it as WORSHIP, as declarations that He is WORTHY of trust even when you don't see results. Like the prodigal's father who 'wasted' years watching the road for a son who might never return, your Father considers every moment of your hope as precious, and He's been working the entire time.
