"I've already waited this long. I can survive waiting longer if I have to."
How it sounds in your head: You've made it this far. You're GOOD at surviving, at managing, at making do. Maybe this is just your life now - not great, but bearable. You've developed coping mechanisms. Why rock the boat hoping for breakthrough that might not come?
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
-- John 10:10Enemy strategy of normalized suffering that mistakes survival mode for abundant life.
Survival skills become identity after years of deployment. The familiar struggle feels safer than the risk of hoping and being disappointed again. Resignation masquerades as peace.
Ate manna (survival food) for FORTY YEARS in wilderness, never owning land or thriving. The DAY they entered the Promised Land, they ate the produce of Canaan and the manna STOPPED - instant transition from survival to abundance.
I REFUSE the lie that survival mode is my destiny and barely-getting-by is acceptable. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus came to give ABUNDANT life - not survival, not coping, but THRIVING. I am not created to white-knuckle through existence; I am Abraham's seed, heir to the BARAK blessing of OVERFLOW - blessed storehouses, lending not borrowing, above not beneath. The Israelites SURVIVED on manna for forty years but God's plan was CANAAN with milk and honey. IT IS WRITTEN in John 10:10 that abundance is my inheritance. I decree the END of survival mode and the BEGINNING of overflow - sudden transition from wilderness to promised land, from pig pods to fattened calf, from managing to THRIVING. Today the manna stops and the ABUNDANCE begins.
The Father isn't proud of your survival skills - He's been GRIEVED watching you eat pig pods when the fattened calf has been ready this whole time. Your resignation breaks His heart. He's not asking you to survive longer; He's inviting you to the PARTY that's been set since before you came home.
