"God took away my job because I failed Him or didn't pray enough."
How it sounds in your head: If I had been more faithful, more prayerful, more obedient, this wouldn't have happened. God is punishing me. I must have done something wrong for Him to allow this at the worst possible time.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus."
-- Romans 8:1Religious lie that suffering equals punishment; enemy distortion of God's character as punishing Father.
She's reviewing her life, finding every mistake, every missed prayer, believing this job loss is divine judgment.
Job was blameless and upright, one who feared God and shunned evil—God HIMSELF testified to this. Yet Job lost wealth, children, and health in one day. His loss had NOTHING to do with sin or failure; God called him righteous DURING the loss.
I REFUSE the lie that God took my job as punishment for my failures. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus—not now, not ever. My standing with God is based on JESUS' performance, not mine. He has forgiven me ALL trespasses, past, present, and future. IT IS WRITTEN in John 3:17, 'God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.' My Father didn't come to PUNISH me; He came to SAVE me. Job was blameless and still lost everything—proving loss is not proof of failure. I am righteous by GIFT, loved by COVENANT, and my job situation doesn't change my position as His BELOVED daughter.
Your Father isn't sitting in heaven reviewing your prayer log and finding you deficient. He's running toward you, robe in hand, saying 'You are MINE, and nothing you did or didn't do changes that. I'm not punishing you—I'm with you.'
