"God punished me with this condition because of something I or my parents did."
How it sounds in your head: There's a reason you're like this. Maybe your mom drank, maybe you sinned, maybe God's angry. This is justice, not accident.
"Jesus answered, 'Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.'"
-- John 9:3Religion: Pharisees asked Jesus whose sin caused blindness - this demonic doctrine blames victims and makes God the abuser.
When bad things happen, humans search for reasons. Religion offers the cruel comfort of causation - if sin caused it, maybe perfect behavior prevents it.
Blind from birth, disciples assumed sin caused it, religious people blamed him. Jesus declared NO sin caused it, spit in dirt, made mud, touched his eyes - INSTANT sight after washing.
I REFUSE the lie that my condition is punishment from God. IT IS WRITTEN: Jesus declared 'neither this man nor his parents sinned' - my disability is NOT judgment. Christ has redeemed me from EVERY curse of the law, having become a curse for me (Galatians 3:13). There is NOW no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus. IT IS WRITTEN: I am blessed with EVERY spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). The BARAK blessing of Abraham is mine by covenant, not behavior. My condition is a STAGE for God's works to be revealed.
The Father didn't send His Son to condemn you but to SAVE you (John 3:17). Like the prodigal covered in pig filth, your condition doesn't change your sonship - the Father runs toward you with healing and wholeness.
