"God must be teaching me something through this suffering."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe this sickness is building character. Maybe God's trying to show me patience, humility, dependence. Maybe I'm supposed to learn something before He heals me. If I figure out the lesson, THEN I'll get healed.
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."
-- Acts 10:38Religion: Suffering positioned as divine curriculum rather than enemy attack Jesus came to destroy.
Churches teach that trials build character and God uses everything for good. It gives suffering PURPOSE, making meaningless pain feel meaningful. It provides a framework when nothing makes sense.
This man was sick for THIRTY-EIGHT YEARS—no record of faith statement, no confession, no lesson learned. Jesus simply asked, 'Do you want to be made well?' and commanded, 'Rise, take up your bed and walk.' IMMEDIATE healing after four decades. Jesus didn't ask what he learned or if he was ready. Just: BE HEALED.
I REFUSE the lie that God is teaching me through sickness. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus healed ALL who were oppressed by the devil—sickness is oppression, not instruction. Jesus came to DESTROY the devil's works, not use them as curriculum. IT IS WRITTEN that EVERY good and perfect gift comes from the Father—sickness is neither good nor perfect. God teaches through His WORD, not through disease. My suffering is the ENEMY's attack, and Jesus' response is ALWAYS healing and deliverance. IT IS WRITTEN that He took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses. I am under the BARAK blessing where health and life are my covenant rights. I don't graduate from sickness—I'm DELIVERED from it NOW.
The Father isn't withholding healing until you learn something—He's running toward you with healing in His wings because teaching through torture isn't His nature. While religion says 'figure out the lesson,' He says 'RECEIVE the gift' because that's who He IS.
