"God is using my stroke to slow me down and make me rest."
How it sounds in your head: I worked too hard my whole life. Never took time off, never slowed down. Maybe God had to force me into this wheelchair because I wouldn't listen. This paralysis is His way of making me finally rest.
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
-- Matthew 11:28Religion portrays God as incapable of getting attention without violence, making Him a divine bully who breaks legs to teach lessons.
Stroke forces physical limitation that mirrors what health experts had warned about for years. Male identity tied to productivity makes forced rest seem like necessary divine intervention.
Paralyzed invalid for 38 YEARS waiting by the pool—Jesus didn't counsel him on accepting his condition or finding rest in limitation. He said 'RISE, take up your bed, and walk,' and IMMEDIATELY the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.
I REFUSE the lie that God authored my stroke to teach rest. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus gives rest through invitation, not invasion—He doesn't break bodies to slow schedules. Satan is the thief; Jesus is the healer. The man paralyzed 38 years didn't graduate to acceptance—he was COMMANDED to rise and walk, and he did IMMEDIATELY. IT IS WRITTEN I am blessed in my body, in my coming in and going out. The BARAK blessing flows through Christ's better covenant. I declare every nerve reconnects, every muscle strengthens, every function RESTORES right now in Jesus' name.
Your Father isn't the author of your stroke—He's the healer of it. He doesn't need to paralyze you to get your attention; He has it through love, not trauma. He's inviting you to supernatural strength, not sanctified limitation.
